Are you ready to comply with the new California law mandating harassment prevention training? All employers in California with 50 or more employees MUST provide every supervisor with two hours of training on sexual harassment prevention by January 1, 2006.

Complying with the new law is just one more harassment concern that California employers have to worry about. Not only are employers in our state automatically liable for harassment by supervisors, but you also risk getting sued if your workers get harassed by clients and vendors!

The jury verdicts resulting from claims of workplace harassment can be HUGE. Consider these examples:

  • An Orange County jury awarded $1,350,000 to a real estate agent who claimed she was terminated because she had complained about being harassed by a corporate vice president.
  • A Los Angeles jury awarded $1,125,000 to a transit employee who claimed she was harassed by her supervisor and that the employer failed to take steps to discipline or transfer the supervisor.

The bottom line is that employers in our state face a challenging legal environment with regard to harassment. Training your employees—whether you're covered by the new law or not—is one of the most effective ways to protect your company.

So how can you create a training program that can prevent harassment and act as an effective shield against liability when a complaint arises?

Join us on Wednesday, August 10, for a fast-paced 90-minute audio conference and find out:

  • What the new California sexual harassment training law requires of you
  • Why effective sexual harassment training is so critical from a legal and management standpoint
  • The penalties you face if you fail to meet your training responsibilities
  • The best way to organize and prepare your training program
  • How to get your supervisors up to speed quickly and effectively
  • What your sexual harassment training MUST include to be effective
  • The concrete steps to take TODAY to get started
  • How to set up an effective complaint reporting system

Plus, with your conference handout, you'll receive:

  • A sample policy against sexual harassment
  • A self-audit checklist
  • And much more!

Because the conference is live, you can ask the speakers questions—either on the phone or via e-mail.
