It's easy to spot the "engaged" employees in your workplace: They're much more productive than their peers, they're safer on the job, they win raves for customer service, and they stick around longer.
But a recent poll reports that almost 20 percent of U.S. workers describe themselves as "disengaged" — and they'll cost employers more than $328 billion this year in lost productivity.
It's not about the money. These employees say 70 percent of their job satisfaction comes from their perceived value and support in the workplace, while only 2 percent depends on their paychecks and benefits. And, another national survey predicts, more than a third of U.S. workers will leave their jobs this year because they're not happy where they are.
How can you move more of your employees into the "engaged" column?
Learn the secrets on Feb. 19 for this practical 90-minute audio conference, as our speaker — an expert on employee incentive and motivation programs — will walk you through the steps in creating effective "carrots" for your California workforce. You'll learn how many employers define and set up effective employee incentives, as well as how you can encourage your workers to become more productive without breaking your HR budgets in the process. Also, our expert will explain proven techniques for building incentive programs that you can easily monitor and measure. And, you'll have the chance during this seminar to pose your own questions for our speaker to provide on-the-spot answers.
YOU AND YOUR COLLEAGUES WILL LEARN:
- How to gauge the culture in your workplace so that your "carrots" fit the needs of your employees
- The difference between compensation, incentives, and rewards (and why these distinctions can make or break your program)
- The basic types of employee incentives used today, from gift cards to trips, and the latest "carrots" being introduced this year
- Which incentives work best in specific situations (e.g., sales growth, employee retention)
- How to communicate your incentives to employees most effectively
- What measures work best in monitoring the success of your employee incentive program
- When it makes sense to change your incentive programs — and how to introduce those changes without upsetting workers who like your current rewards
- The most common mistakes employers make with employee incentives — and how to avoid repeating them
