Follow These Best Practices to Comply With California's Confusing Wage and Hour Rules - and Reduce Your Legal Risks in 2010

It's no secret that California imposes more legal and regulatory burdens on employers than any other state in the country. That's especially true in the wage and hour arena:

  • The state's complex wage and hour rules can cause headaches for even the most experienced HR professionals - from convoluted meal break/rest period requirements to onerous overtime standards.
  • California's legislature routinely adopts its own unique versions of many federal wage and hour laws, with crucial differences that can trip up unwary employers.
  • Rulings from federal and state courts in California constantly fall in favor of employees - and the state is filled with thousands of plaintiffs' lawyers who are aggressively targeting employers in search of their next big payday.

Join Us for Virtual Boot Camp

Join us on Friday, Feb. 19 - and bring your supervisors along - for an intensive virtual boot camp on complying with California's tough wage and hour rules.

In under six hours, you and your managers will learn the best practices for dealing with both everyday issues (such as recording time worked and managing overtime) and the toughest wage and hour questions (such as employee classifications and on-call or off-the-clock pay).

You can have your supervisors stay for all five sessions, or swap them in and out so that they're attending just the sessions you want them to focus on (and if you stay for the whole training, you can earn up to 5 hours of HRCI credit).

Each session will include about 45 minutes of presentation time, followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A. You may submit your questions in real time, either over the phone or using the webinar interface - anonymously, if you wish.

Best of all, you can train your entire team for one low registration rate. It's incredibly cost-effective training - perfect for these tough economic times.
